This pair of swans were swimming in the Boise River today.

Boise Green Belt Volunteer Patrol
I recently started volunteering with the Boise Police Department on the Green Belt Bike Path. It's a very rewarding experience for me.
This is the cart that I use to patrol the greenbelt. It's called the Red Mule. It's top speed is about 12 miles per hour! In my 5 hour shift, I go from one end of the bike path and nature trail to the other, all within the Boise City Limits, and on both sides of the Boise River (about 8 miles or so on each side). The bike trail is longer than that, but parts of it are in Garden City (not Boise), and other parts are in the county (also not within the Boise City Limits).
Today, under the Broadway Bridge, I removed this Winco shopping cart. It had been near the river's edge for about 3 weeks. I had to cross over a small side channel (about 3 feet wide) by crossing on a log as to not get my feet wet. One of the wheels was bent sideways so it was not easy to push the shopping cart.
In a new park at the East end of the section that we patrol, an out house had been knocked over. I'm not sure if the wind blew it over or if someone pushed it over. I was able to get it back up-right, but it is very dirty and will need to be serviced!

In my job at FedEx, I get to see a lot of animals ... mostly dogs! Big dogs, small dogs, barking dogs! I do like dogs, even though I don't have one right now.
Today, while making a delivery to a house near Horseshoe Bend, Idaho, this very cute dog came to greet me at my truck:

He was right under my feet! All he wanted was someone to play with!
The last couple of days, I've seen a lot of snow. It's not too bad yet. I haven't needed to put on the tire chains. My truck is equiped with a shovel and chains if I need them.
Let it snow!

Cascade, Idaho
My job at FedEx Ground takes me to some remote locations outside of Boise, Idaho. It's not all that unusual for me to drive about 200 miles a day to deliver packages. Today, I went to Eagle, Horseshoe Bend, Sweet, and Cascade. Here are some photos that I took with my cell phone today:

Last week, I started a new job as a delivery driver with FedEx Ground. This is the truck I'm driving to complete my route:
It's a 2013 Ford 4x4 pick-up, and it drives really nice.
Here are a couple of other shots that I took this summer when I was on a trip to San Diego
with some High School students from Eugene, Oregon:

Most of the pictures I've been taking lately have been with my Samsung cell phone, because that's the camera that I usually have with me. This rose was so beautiful, with the evergreen bush behind it, that I decided to take my Canon camera over and take a few more shots with it. The picture above is with the Canon camera, and the shot below is with my cell phone.

I made it home from Portland this afternoon, and it's good to be back in Boise. I'm still looking for work here, but I'm sure something will come my way soon.
This is the bike path along the Boise River ... not too far from my house.
I hope you have been enjoying my photographs. All of these are from my Samsung phone.

Life in Boise, Idaho
I'm really enjoying my life here in Boise. I spend a lot of time looking for work, but I also get to enjoy the exciting outdoor adventures that this area has to offer ... hiking, biking, the Boise River Trail system, hot springs and camping. It's fall now, and soon it will be winter, with cooler tempatures and new adventures to discover.
I recently returned from Oregon and from several different tours with Experience Oregon. I hope you are enjoying my photos. I had a wonderful trip with a group of Chinese Professors that are in Eugene and studying at the University of Oregon.
This may very well have been one of the last warm days of the summer at Crater Lake.

Salt Creek Falls is on Highway 58 near Willamette Pass. It's very amazing, and you can hike right down to the base fo the waterfall.
Crater Lake is so blue ... it doesn't look real!

Hello from Boise, Idaho!
Wow! It's been way too long since I've posted to my blog!
There's no good excuse, so I guess the only thing I can do is to post some new pictures and make it my goal to post here on a more regular basis ... so here we go:

To all my new friends in Puerto Rico, I am so happy that you have found my blog. I have a lot of pictures from the trip that I'll be posting here.
Please leave a comment below or send me an e-mail at stephen_fosdick@yahoo.com
The trip started in Portland when I picked up the group at the Portland International Airport. We spent the night at the Red Lion Hotel, and enjoyed a great magic show by Adam the Great!
